Welcome!

The Ottawa Rotary Home has provided respite care in a warm and loving environment since 1982 to families and individuals with disabilities. For over 25 years our mission has been to improve the quality of life of caregivers and individuals with disabilities through a family centered approach that is responsive to individual needs and offered in a dynamic and flexible way.

More on our Mission, Vision, & Values

We view individuals with disabilities as persons with varying degrees of ABILITIES. We take every opportunity to help individuals and families reach their full potential. We also consider it our responsibility to help raise community awareness surrounding persons with disabilities on a daily basis.

We have historically been a children's provider but it has always been our dream to provide respite to our "graduates" after they turn 21. This dream finally came true in 2009 when our Leitrim Campus was opened. New Home Project

The Adult Respite Program supports adults after the age of 21. Since 2009 over 88 adults have had respite at our Leitrim campus and the numbers continue to grow. However the program does not have annualized government funding so we rely on fundraised dollars and the generosity of corporate partners who believe in our mission. When your family member stays in our Adult Respite Program, they are supported in a barrier free environment, with qualified, competent, talented employees who help make this an enjoyable stay for your family member.

2009 was a grand year at the Rotary Home as we not only expanded into adult respite but also expanded our continuum of service and opened the residential home for adults at our Rochester campus. We welcomed 6 individuals from the Rideau Regional Centre and 2 from the community into our family. Our residential program assists individuals with physical disabilities and complex medical needs requiring specialized care. We were delighted to meet these wonderful individuals and their families and embraced the care they require from a medical, social and emotional vantage point.
